The Surgery Center of Nacogdoches is owned and operated by a joint venture between Nacogdoches Medical Center and physicians. The Surgery Center of Nacogdoches and Nacogdoches Medical Center are committed to providing each and every patient with quality care. We always strive to provide the best, and safest, medical care possible.
We are proud to be fully accredited by The Joint Commission. Currently, The Surgery Center of Nacogdoches is the only ambulatory surgery center in the area to be accredited by The Joint Commission.
Patient safety is our highest priority. We have seven plans for ensuring the safety of our patients and staff, including quarterly fire drills, weekly generator testing, equipment maintenance checks every 6-12 months, two disaster drills per year, hazardous waste monitoring, comprehensive safety inspections every six months, and participation in the State Regional Advisory Council on healthcare preparedness for terrorism and disasters.
The Surgery Center of Nacogdoches meets or exceeds national benchmarks for patient safety. We routinely conduct staff training for the prevention of specific patient safety concerns including patient abduction, emergency transfers, correct patient identification, post-operative complications, pain, returns to surgery, adverse medication events, patient wait times, post-operative infection and falls.
